What Is Life? (3 Tips For Living A Better Life)

what is life

I’ve been tweeting a lot of quotes across Twitter these last few weeks. The quotes have to do with the concept surrounding: “What Is Life?” I’ve quoted philosophers, theologians, politicians, mathematicians, environmentalists, and even Jesus Christ Himself. What I’ve learned, essentially, is that there are millions of people who want to know the answer to: What is life all about?

“Wondering what is life all about? Here’s the secret. It’s about encouraging people, providing value, & serving others first.”

What Is Life All About?

Most people want to live a life of greatness. We want to feel important, to make a dent in the world, and to help other people along their way. What we don’t want any part of is to feel small, unneeded, disposable, sophomoric, or even out-of-touch. So how do you do that? You do it by living out three main things.

Living a better life comes down to:

  • Encourage Other People
  • Provide Something of Value
  • Become “Others-Oriented”

1.  ENCOURAGE OTHER PEOPLE

You are a unique and powerful weapon, created for greatness and longevity. Did you know that? You are special!

You’re not a weapon of mass destruction, but a weapon of mass-encouragement! Think about it this way. You were created by a great God, in the image of Greatness, in order to live a life that points back to your God and Savior, Jesus Christ. In a similar way that Jesus came to this world to serve others, He left us here to serve one another.

Isn’t it amazing how awesome you feel after you go out of your way to do something for someone else? That is by design. God’s design, in fact. So spend a lot of your time encouraging other people around you. You have an UNlimited arsenal of encouragement at your disposal and it will give you tremendous pleasure. Use it today.

2.  PROVIDE SOMETHING OF VALUE

Even though humans were created for greatness and serving others, most of us tend to be takers rather than givers. People don’t read your blog because they want to know more and more and more about you. No, they read it fill a need in themselves. People are looking for value. We want high-quality goods and we’ll reward you with our time and attention if you give it to us. So dish it out.

Figure out what your tribe of followers wants and then give it to them, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Meet their need. Answer their questions. Make people laugh. That’s what we want. When you quench that thirst for us, we’ll be back to see you soon, time and time again.

3.  BECOME OTHERS-ORIENTED

My motto for 2013 is as follows:

“How can I help you?”

That’s what I want my life, my business, my ministry, and my family life to be centered around. How I can help others. Not, “How can I get others to serve me?” Life is about giving, not receiving.

You will enjoy both a better life and a happy life if you focus on others first, rather than second (or never at all). I guarantee that your life will become utterly amazing when others start to perceive you as someone who actually cares about them. Strange, but people will begin to flock your direction when you start serving them without expecting anything in return.

Jesus said it this way,

“It is more blessed to give than to receive” – Jesus Christ
